In the period leading to menopause, the ovaries start to age and less reproductive hormones are produced causing some or all of the symptoms earlier mentioned. In some cases, however, menopause can be induced or caused by a medical issue, treatment or surgical removal of the ovaries, or injuries to ovaries or related areas.
