In Belgium, A Woman of Age 90 Died from Coronavirus After Refusing A Ventilator

Suzanne Hoylaerts, from Binkom, near Lubbeek in Belgium, has refused life-saving medical equipment requesting doctors to use it on someone younger and save another life who has longer to live before she died in the hospital.

During the Global Pandemic, COVID-19, we hear many stories in different tones. And this is a very heart-touching story we hear from Belgium. A 90 years old woman died infected Coronavirus as he has refused using a ventilator. And when doctors are going to use a ventilator for her, he was asking to use it for someone younger in the same fight for life.

When Suzanne Hoylaerts was admitted to hospital she has been experiencing shortness of breath and a loss of appetite from about two weeks back.

And then she was tested positive for coronavirus and has kept isolated as the first step for anyone confirmed positive for the illness.

With her age and various other conditions, her signs have worsened.

That is where doctors decided Ms. Hoylaerts to connect with a ventilator helping her for easier breathing. But she refused.

What she was saying is, use it to save a younger as she has lived a good life so far and no need for artificial respiration.

Ms. Hoylaerts died of COVID-19 two days after she has been admitted for treatments

Her daughter Judith was saying to reporters that, she could not even say goodbye to her as they are not allowed to attend her funeral.

Current Updates from COVID-19 Pandemic:

In Belgium, 705 have reported victims for deadly COVID-19.

And at this stage, the country reports 12,775 coronavirus cases of all-around 1,021 are in serious conditions under intensive care.

As with the official reports, a Belgian of 12-years has reported the youngest person died of COVID-19 in Europe.
